THE LATE VERY REV. DR. R.G.M. CALDERWOOD.
He was the first Moderator of the General asembly in 1956- 1957. He also was the first trained theologian (seminarian) to be posted to the British East Africa. He taught the first eight ordained african ministers

THE LATE VERY REV. ROBERT MacPHERSON
The late Very Rev. Robert Macpherson, 2nd moderator of General assembly. He played a significant role in uniting the Gospel Missionary Society and the P.C.E.A in 1943. He was married to the only daughter of the Rev. Mr & Mrs. P. Knapp founders of the G.M.S.

Late Very Rev. Charles Muhoro kareri
The late Very Rev. Charles Muhoro kareri led the church across the red sea (independence) with unparalelled courage. As the first african moderator, he was the moderator of the 3rd and 4th general assemblies.

LATE VERY REV. CRISPUS KIONGO
The Late Rev.Crispus kiongo was moderator of the 5th and 6th General Assemblies and presided over the church during the oath crisis of 1969. He was keen in laytraining, church literature and theological education. He was a tutor at the P.C.E.A Pastoral Institute.

Late Rev. Jeremia Gitau was the Moderator of the 7th and 8th General assembly.

The late Very Rev. John G. Gatu
The late Very Rev. John Gatu was moderator of the 9th and 10th general assemblies from 1979 to 1985. He had a long administrative career as the General Secretary of the P.C.E.A church for 18 years before he became the Moderator. He was very strong in ecumenism. He also served as the the chairman of the centennial celebration committee.

Very Rev. Dr. George Wanjau
The Very Rev. Dr. George Wanjau was moderator of the 11th and 12th general assemblies, 1985 to 1991. He has strong charismatic inclinations and evangelical fervour. He and his wife Mary have four sons.
