The man who became the 2nd moderator of General Assembly serving from 1957-1961, was born on scot but spent most of his adult life serving in Kenya in several roles. He was artisan, a gifted teacher especially with languages. Early in His life he was seconded to the special services with GMS at Kambui. the local reffered to Him as Miiki wa Kambui. He played a significant role in uniting the Gospel Missionary Society and the Church of Scotland Missions to form the P.C.E.A in 1943. He was married to the only daughter of the Rev. Mr & Mrs. P. Knapp founders of the G.M.S. He is remebered for documenting PCEA History get a copy here. He founded a teachers training college. 

He was the 5th and 6th General Assem­blies Moderator. Rev Kiongo was born in 1912. After teaching for more than 16 years , He was ordained in 1953 after three years of theological studies at Fort Hare in South Africa. a. He was keen in laytraining, church literature and theological education. He was a tu­tor at the P.C.E.A Pastoral Institute. He served the church with vigor, courage and devotion especially durin the time of the infamous oathings of 1969.  He died on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1996. 

He was the Moderator of the 7th and 8th General assembly. Born in 1909 in Kiambu. He was ordained in 1953 after studying theology in Forte Hare College. In 1973 he was appointed as the 7th G.A Moderator. He is remebered for setting the pattern for future moderators, i.e. visiting church sessions, presbyteries and other church organisations and fellowship groups. He also relieved the moderator of all parochial duties setting him for for other higher duties. He was also a noted linguist, translating the bible into kikuyu language. He was the humblest of all church leaders of his time. Rev J Gitau became ill and died suddenly on 11th sept 1985. 

The late Very Rev. John Gatu was moderator of the 9th and 10th general assemblies from 1979 to 1985. He had a long adminis­trative career as the General Secre­tary of the P.C.E.A church for 18 years before he became the Moderator. He was very strong in ecumenism. He also served as the the chairman of the centennial celebration committee.

The late Very Rev. Bernard Muindi moderator of the 13th General Assembly. He was the moderator under whose tenure the Church celeberated 100 years of God favour. The Centennial Celebrations were held on 9th - 22nd September 1991.

The Right Rev. Julius Guantai Mwamba moderator of the 21th General Assembly. He is the current moderator and the 22nd General Assembly Moderator.
